All Proceeds from Jim Hinman's New Underground Railroad History to Benefit Historic Bristol Hill Church

United States, 3rd Oct 2026 - Author Jim Hinman has announced that 100% of author proceeds from his forthcoming book, "The Story of James W. Seward and the Underground Railroad: And the Bristol Hill Church," will be dedicated directly to the historic Bristol Hill Congregational Church in Volney, New York, supporting community heritage and historical preservation.

The book chronicles the life of James Watkins Seward, a young free African American man tied to the church's history, drawing on his letters to abolitionist Gerrit Smith and his dictated confession before his 1841 execution in Missouri to tell a story of courage under extraordinary pressure.

"In keeping with the historical mission of the project, every dollar of proceeds goes back to the church itself," says Hinman. "It felt like the only right way to honor a story that came out of that community."
